PHASE Asia Pacific is a conference for all educators focussed on physical education, health, athletics, sports, and experiential learning.  The conference allows participants to learn from leading authorities in their respective fields as well as from practitioner presenters, to network with fellow educators, and to access good practice and resources in multiple formats.

PHASE has evolved from the Asia Pacific Physical Education Conference (APPEC) which was a dedicated Physical Education & Wellness event for the Asia Pacific region starting in 2015.

I have been teaching PE for more than 20 years at various international schools, mostly in Asia and the US. My approach to teaching PE is more of a wholistic model - where the learning is multi-layered with movement, character ed., nutrition, mindfulness, and social interactions - all intertwined into the fabric of every unit. I believe the skills and concepts of communication, collaboration, safety, courage and cultural competence are all inter-related and as important as teaching creative movement and gross motor skills. I enjoy creating games that have multiple levels and that challenge players to reach for deeper strategic thinking and require inter-dependence for success. Personally, I love do things that make my heart pump and fill me adrenaline, like: surfing, mountain biking, snow boarding, and playing games that resemble real-life video games. I consider myself a 'real-life' game creator, who writes code for actual human movement.
