PHASE Asia Pacific is a conference for all educators focussed on physical education, health, athletics, sports, and experiential learning.  The conference allows participants to learn from leading authorities in their respective fields as well as from practitioner presenters, to network with fellow educators, and to access good practice and resources in multiple formats.

PHASE has evolved from the Asia Pacific Physical Education Conference (APPEC) which was a dedicated Physical Education & Wellness event for the Asia Pacific region starting in 2015.

FUNdamental Cooperative Games
Every teacher always has their "go to's" when it comes to games and activities. These are great when it comes to being flexible in new spaces, random events (like a flooded gym or collapsing ceilings) and all the other random events that can come up in a day!

In this session, Jace will share with you some of the FUNdamental Games that he uses, not only as emergency plans, but also as a method of developing the fundamental movement skills needed for students to continue to develop along their physical literacy journey.

Quadrupedal Movement: Rolling, Crawling & Falling
A fundamental human motor skill and an incredibly fun way to move - Quadrupedal Movement has been proven to improve joint position sense, coordination, strength, endurance, mobility and flexibility.

In this session, participants will learn the fundamentals of low gait movement, including how to fall safely and roll, and how to deliver a range of activities to young people to develop and challenge their movement capacities. Kids love to 'move like animals', and will have a great time with these activities while also building physical literacy and fitness as a by-product.

No equipment or special gear required, just a flat space and bags of energy!

The Volleyball Spike Approach: An Indepth Progression Through Rhythm
This workshop is a very specific part of “Viva Volei” - a developmental volleyball program for Brazilian Youth Volleyball developed by the CVB (Brazilian Volleyball Confederation)

In this workshop - through mass practice - participants will learn the two specific rhythms that students should recognise. This pertains to the 'correct' volleyball approach. Along with the two rhythms, specific key words will be introduced to supplement the actions required for an effective and safe approach to attack the volleyball.

Participants will be given a chance to experience progression training with emphasis on the key words with action. Subsequently, participants will be given a sample assessment that could serve as a resource for class assessment for the volleyball spike approach.
