PHASE Asia Pacific is a conference for all educators focussed on physical education, health, athletics, sports, and experiential learning.  The conference allows participants to learn from leading authorities in their respective fields as well as from practitioner presenters, to network with fellow educators, and to access good practice and resources in multiple formats.

PHASE has evolved from the Asia Pacific Physical Education Conference (APPEC) which was a dedicated Physical Education & Wellness event for the Asia Pacific region starting in 2015.

Dance is a lifetime sport and as physical educators, it is up to us to build confidence in our students in activities they will participate in for life. Participants will learn an easy dance that Alison has created so that they can incorporate into their teaching units.

This session is suitable for all levels. Participants do not need to be a professional dancer to inspire students to be passionate about movement, you just need to come to this session with an open mind. Gymnastics Made Simple: A Dynamic K-5 Gymnastics Unit In As Little As 6 Lessons
Looking to add gymnastics to your K-5 curriculum? Interested in revisiting how you structure your gymnastics unit?

In this presentation we will take a look at how we have integrated gymnastics into Shanghai American School’s K-5 PE program and rapidly increased student interest and participation in gymnastics related activities. Please come to this session ready to participate in a sped up version of our gymnastics unit which will end with a culminating activity we use as our summative assessment for the unit. You will walk away with a framework for a gymnastics unit, with resources you can use immediately, that can be completed in as little as 6 lessons.

We feel gymnastics is a critical part of a PE curriculum, and whether or not you are experienced in this content area, this session aims to have you walk away confident in running a gymnastics unit.
